When interpreting breast MR images using CAD, establish standard protocols using CAD as a complement to the radiologist's initial interpretation.
On average, one breast MRI examination generates 1,0004,000 individual images. Efficient postprocessing and interpretation of MR images can be achieved with the use of computer-aided detection (CAD) software. This lecture provides an overview of breast MRI postprocessing and interpretation using the American College of Radiologists (ACR) BI-RADS® lexicon and review of several case studies demonstrating how CAD can augment the radiologist's interpretation of images.
